Meditation can transform your life. When you learn how to meditate, it can help you lose weight, gain focus find direction and even unlock the creative process if you are blocked or it can enhance your creativity.
We live in a noisy world. That goes for outside of ourselves and inside our heads! Scientists have documented that we have upwards of 60,000 thoughts a day. Unfortunately, many of those thoughts are negative: what if I fail, I’m too old, I’m too young, I’ll never write this book.… just to name a few.
We are also exposed to as many as 5,000 advertising messages a day. All of this stimulation can cause anxiety, fear and confusion.
Meditation allows us to clear the clutter from our minds. We can stop anxious and negative thoughts and replace them with peaceful, loving thoughts.
From a creative standpoint, through meditation, we connect to the ultimate creative source, God. When I talk about connecting with God, I am not talking about religion. I am talking about connecting to the loving, creative source that created the universe and you and me.
When we clear anxious and fearful thoughts and replace them with peaceful and loving thoughts, we can be more effective in our relationships at home in our work and with others. We stopped reacting to life and start responding to life.
We can step back and become more of an observer and look at a situation before responding. Sometimes, we may find that we don’t even need to respond. That is where the peace that meditation provides.
I am my happiest when I am creating. Meditation allows the mind to be free from clutter and provides an open channel to be in what I call the creative flow. It is like a Divine pipeline to receive inspiration. I can’t explain why, I can only tell you that this has been my experience.
Meditation is what motivated me to leave the traditional work force and forge my own entrepreneurial path. Many times I wanted to give up. Many times I let the voices of doubt and fear immobilize me, but only briefly.
I so believe in the power of meditation that I wanted to help others clear the clutter from their minds and tap into peace, creativity and their own personal power. If you’ve never practiced meditation or if you want an easy and quick meditation practice to help you, I’ve created a guided meditation CD called, “Be Still”. It is taken from Psalm 46:10, “Be still and know that I am God”.
I hope you will join me in discovering the power meditation in your life too.
